Hello! Finding a therapist can be hard. I want to commend you for taking that first step. I approach therapy with a non-judgmental and trauma-informed lens. I use a client-centered approach and believe that the body and nervous system holds memories from our past. I strive to help you work through those memories in whichever way you feel is most comfortable. My goal is to create a safe environment that allows you to prosper. I use a variety of different interventions, honoring that you know yourself best and what helps one person, may not help another in the same way.
In 2019, I started my work with adolescents in a residential treatment center for troubled youth in Frederick. Since then, I have worked primarily with adults in various settings, including outpatient, residential and crisis step-down programs. I gained much of my experience in working with those with trauma, where I had the opportunity to be trained in IFS (Internal Family Systems), DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) & CBT (Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy). I also use expressive arts as it targets the same part of the brain trauma does in a less threatening way.
I use a strength-based approach and want to know about you as a person, not just what you struggle with. Healing isn't easy, yet I hope to foster an environment which allows you to grow and flourish. If this sounds like something you are looking for, please don't hesitate to reach out. I look forward to working alongside you!
